I had this other idea - kind of like Common Sense from Thomas Paine. An anonymous political newspaper (electronic?). We will fight only with the disobedience our country was founding upon. Has entire pages devoted to editorial cartoons..

As usual, these ideas won't be any more than ideas. I'm only driven toward mediocrity.

We will all be forgotten in five generations anyhow.

I guess it could be more than just an idea if any of you were actually interested in any of these silly ideas.

IThey use the computer games to prevent me from actually accomplishing anything.

So many fruitless ideas and dreams because I pursue nothing. What would it take for me to pursue something? That and inspiration.

Is there nothing more to me other than this mundane existence?

Who are the "they" that keep you subjugated with computer games?

http://crazyrubes42.blogspot.com/2004/12/illuminatus-trilogy-by-those-guys.html for some more info on "They" (not to be confused with the multinational corporation "Them")

Them is actually a conspiracy theorist's other wet dream. A conglomerate of all the Fortune 500 companies dictating how the world is to be run.

They, however, is far more covert. No one actually knows anyone who is a member (unless of course you are one. Every single member of They is a non-person. The movie Men in Black gives some inkling of who They are. They are more concerned with keeping the status quo in place then discrediting Joe Drunkard who saw a UFO. Morgan Freeman's character in Chain Reaction is a member of They. They is more government oriented. Keyser Soze was a renegade member of They who got frustrated with They's crime fighting efforts and decided to pull a Bronson on crime. They are the people that make sure there is always an upperclass in any government. Some believe They aren't actual people, but are simply a mindset. But those people are idiots. Both of Mulder's informants and Cancer Man were members of They. They is an agency that was not even given a name. Everyone refers to other agents by there number.

Do you believe in the existence of They and Them?

No, but it's a fun story.

Also, not everyone will be forgotten in five generations. It's how many hundreds of generations later, and people are still all up in the jock of that guy named Jesus...

Not to mention Newton, Copernicus, Plato, Archimedes, etc, etc. The list goes on forever. Will "Reuben Cohen" be the next to join that hallowed pantheon?

You need a motivation transplant. Maybe electroshock therapy?

OK so my generalization was a little off. *Most* people are forgotten after five generations.

Electroshock therapy doesn't give motivation. I could get the same results from meds with a lot less pain. In any case, both remove inspiration.

OK, so what creates inspiration/motivation? Or is it innate, you either have it or you don't?
